I cannot believe it... our first competition of our school's winterguard EVER and we got first place out of 13 schools and got bumped up to double A!!!!!!! I'm so high on happiness now I'm about to... nevermind, I already skipped around the house whooping.
I can't believe it.... I still.... my first EVER competition!!!
Can't talk coherently now. I still remember walking out onto the tarp, in my uniform, looking at all the people that I couldn't see because I didn't have my glasses on, going through it, exuding all this energy and nearly bursting out of my heart with happiness the moment the announcer said our team got first...
I am so... EEEE!
Normally I'm a very calm and rational and sensical person, but when it comes down to it... my FIRST! This'll go down in my memory...
In other news, school is going fine. xD I'm an aide for my favorite teacher second period, so it's great. I've gotten to do a lot of weird stuff like unload boxes of "Dr. Strange's Eatable Science" and lots of green Play-do. One day I spent the entire period unlocking and locking drawers, and watered her snake, and undid a three-foot chain of paperclips.
Talk to me if you're in Guard, and if you're not, talk to me anyway.
I got a livejournal, to_defenestrate, but I probably won't use it a lot. Mostly there to comment on people's RvB fanfiction, which, by the way, I am eagerly waiting for episode 89 to come out... COME ON!
Edit
I'm sorry, I was so excited about our win that I forgot to mention how great the other teams were.
I would describe them all, but the ones that stuck out the most were these two- Once Bitten and the tribute to Katharine Hepburn. The first one just blew me away- it was based off of Anne Rice's 'Interview with a Vampire' and to the song 'Call me when you're sober'. It had the vampire woman and the human man, and her minions around, and he refused to become a vampire, and she warned him about her power. He said he loved her, and THAT'S when the music jammed in and the flags started going crazy and about thirty seconds later, standing on top of a twenty-foot scaffolding, the vampire in a dominatrix suit starting popped out of nowhere to dance to the song.
That part made the crowd explode. They cheered and went crazy. A couple of the girls on my team said they wanted that outfit, complete with the leather boots and the corset. There were black curtains hanging over the back of the tarp so you couldn't see behind it, and flags popped over the back of the curtains and the dancers caught it so easily. If you ever find this show, WATCH IT! It is well worth the five or so minutes.
The other one was the tribute to Katharine Hepburn, and the amazing part about it was the tarp. It had giant fold-up facts on it like her movies and quotes and pictures, and a lot of the song they danced to was her talking about her life, and it was pretty cool!
By the way, I hardly spoke about my awesome teammates. You guys are great. ^^ I'm not very active in the social ring of guard but still it's fun talking to you guys. Keep up the great work! You guys made my first season what it is- GREAT!
And on another note, a friend of mine that left dA for a while is back- say welcome back to
